Are the Congressional Records available through online archives?

I'm analyzing legislative history and need to track debates and proceedings over several decades. Physically visiting the Library of Congress isn't feasible. I need to know which official or academic portals provide complete, searchable access to these primary sources.

Absolutely, and this is a crucial resource. I always direct researchers first to the official GovInfo.gov site from the Government Publishing Office it’s the authenticated, complete digital source from 1994 onward. For volumes before that, the Library of Congress's "A Century of Lawmaking" site is invaluable, covering 1774-1875. For a more user-friendly search interface, I often recommend the non-profit Congress.gov or academic library portals that subscribe to HeinOnline, which has a superb, fully searchable historical archive. Start with GovInfo for modern sessions.
