Longitudinal and cross sectional research

Hey, I am new in this PhD world and is most of the times confused regarding many things related to PhD. The major thing which is troubling me nowadays is the longitudinal and cross-sectional research. I always get confused between the two. Is there any easy way to remember which one is what??

Hey, it’s so simple. Just focus on the words longitudinal means over a long period of time. And in cross-sectional research means study from different sections.
