How can teachers contribute to curriculum design, and what benefits does their involvement bring to student learning and instructional quality?

Teachers are often positioned as curriculum implementers rather than designers. I’m interested in how their practical insights can shape better curricula. This question relates to improving both learning outcomes and teaching quality.

From my experience, teachers contribute most effectively by bringing classroom realities into curriculum design. I have seen curricula become more realistic, inclusive, and teachable when teachers are involved early. I would recommend engaging teachers in needs analysis, piloting, and review stages. Their involvement improves instructional quality because teachers understand both learner challenges and practical constraints, which ultimately benefits student learning.
