Although Grounded theory combines both qualitative and quantitative perspectives to register thinking and action of individuals, as a research design, it is primarily qualitative. One of the significances of using this theory is the theoretical sampling which is highly an open ended process of sampling to reach a theory in linear steps.

Even Though this theory might seem like it is not leading anywhere, it is exactly the way it works. It is the study of a concept, that is a core strategy which makes sense after the end. That is why it is named so, since it involves various steps formulating and making up for a research theory.

It differs from the other models because of the sampling it uses. It is widely used, since it leads to more grounded data when the limitations are followed.
