Based on the network maps and performance analysis, what gaps or weakly connected areas in the research landscape can be identified as opportunities for future study?
My analysis has produced maps and metrics that describe the current state of the field. The logical next step is to suggest future research, but I want to move beyond generic suggestions to data-justified, strategic opportunities derived directly from the network structure itself.

This is where analysis turns into strategy. I look for two key features: "structural holes" between dense clusters, and active yet poorly connected nodes. The gaps between clusters represent potential for interdisciplinary synthesis the most cited paper in Cluster A hasn't been cited in Cluster B. A highly central keyword with few links is an under-explored core concept. I would recommend targeting these weak ties or bridging nodes. They are your data-driven opportunities for high-impact work that connects disparate ideas. Your maps don't just describe the past; they can roadmap the future.
