From my experience engaging with science studies, researchers never work in a social vacuum. I have seen funding priorities, institutional norms, and peer expectations shape what questions are asked and how results are framed. I would recommend understanding science as socially situated without dismissing its rigor. This approach explains variation in research agendas while still respecting scientific standards and methods.
