Hardware + Software Security: Thesis Ideas for a Hands-On Masters

I'm starting my Master's in Applied Cybersecurity and want a thesis that gets hands-on with both hardware and software. Any ideas for a project that isn't just theoretical but involves building or testing something?

Great focus! Here are some hands-on ideas: 1) Build a secure application using hardware enclaves (like Intel SGX or ARM TrustZone). 2) Experiment with side-channel attacks (like power analysis) on a microcontroller and implement a software countermeasure. 3) Design a secure boot process or a hardware root of trust for a Raspberry Pi-based IoT device. These let you demonstrate low-level hardware knowledge while solving a practical software security problem.
