Factors to consider while selecting progressive cavity pump
I have heard that progressive cavity pump has similar characteristics of a piston pump. In such a situation, how do I choose between the two pumps?

1. Pressure – The amount of pressure required to move the liquid that is pumped through the discharge port depends on the piping system. The difference between the pressure needed at the pump discharge and the pressure introduced into the pump suction is known as the differential pressure.
2. Viscosity – The Viscosity normal changes with temperature and should be considered while selecting the progressive cavity pump.

1. Capacity – this is nothing but the rate of flow in gallons per minute
2.Temperature – since viscosity changes with temperature, you should also consider the temperature.
3. Operating time – whether the pump is to run intermittently or continuously, the operating cycle of the pump must be considered.
