Can you give examples of innovation models for industry–university R&D collaboration?
I am studying collaborative innovation and want to understand practical models that enable effective R&D partnerships between universities and industry, particularly for technology transfer and applied research.

From my experience, models such as the Triple Helix, joint research centers, and sponsored doctoral programs work particularly well. I have seen industry-funded labs within universities accelerate applied research while maintaining academic rigor. I would recommend clear IP agreements, shared governance, and long-term partnerships rather than project-based collaboration alone. These models build trust, align incentives, and allow knowledge to flow effectively between theory and practice, strengthening both industrial innovation capacity and academic research relevance.
