From my experience, Stakeholder Theory and the Lead User Method serve different but complementary purposes. I have seen Stakeholder Theory guide firms in balancing economic, social, and environmental interests, shaping responsible innovation strategies. The Lead User Method, in contrast, focuses on identifying advanced users whose needs anticipate market trends. I would recommend Stakeholder Theory for strategic alignment and legitimacy, while using the Lead User Method for concrete product and service innovation. Together, they strengthen both innovation relevance and societal acceptance.
