The key difference between the primary data and secondary data is,
1. Primary data is obtained by performing a research whereas secondary data is obtained from previous researches.
2.Primary data collection consumes a lot of time whereas secondary data collection is fast and easy and gives broader understanding of subject matter.
3. Primary data is raw data whereas secondary data is tried and tested data.

There are plenty of options available for the collection of secondary data.
1.Data available on the internet: Today plenty of data is freely available on the internet which can be accessed. The data will be available for free of cost.
2.Libraries: Libraries are a good source of data. You can find plenty of resources on previous research in the same subject as your’s.
