It presents a correlation between two variables. It also offers graphical assessment of temporal dependence.

Correlograms is plotted by taking time lags on x-axis and correlation on y-axis. If the data is random, 
then the autocorrelation value must be near zero for all time lags. If it is non-random then one or more autocorrelation will be non-zero.

Autocorrelation is determined using the formula,rh=ch/cO. Here ch autocovariance function and cO is variance function.
