Field research vs survey method

surveys and field research approaches are not the same. They are completely different. 
Survey uses a questionnaire predict and/or describe a phenomenon. Surveys demand interaction with respondent 
via paper and pen questions, online interaction, personal interviews, etc.

I don’t know much about survey type of method. But am confident that survey and 
field research is not the same. Field research may be considered as field study and field experiments. 
Field studies use certain elements to explore the problem situation. Whereas field experiment will define a 
field setting in realistic setting where the research scholar manipulates independent variables and based upon the conditions control the variables.
