Experimental data collection method in natural science

1.A technique used to gather the details regarding variables is known as survey. Whereas the experiment method tests the hypothesis.
2.Survey is performed when the research is descriptive in nature, whereas experiments are conducted in case of experimental research.
3.The survey samples have low response rate and hence are large especially if it is conducted through mailed questionnaire. 
  However, the sample used for experiment method is very small.

  you cannot use survey method to collect the data in natural science research. You have to use experimental method only.

  Survey method cannot be used. It is performed in laboratory and involves data collection via several readings of the experiment.
