Can india really do telemedicine differently from the west?

Telemedicine in the US is about video visits and high-end platforms. Can India, with its scale and diversity, contribute something genuinely different?

Absolutely India's opportunity is to leapfrog. By building affordable, scalable solutions for low-resource settings, India can address its own vast needs and export models to other emerging economies. Think mobile-first apps that work on basic phones, AI triage for overburdened primary care, and regulatory frameworks that balance access with safety. The West's telemedicine is optimized for convenience. India's could be optimized for reach. That's not imitation. That's innovation.
