As a researcher, can you recommend a book that explains Theory of Mind using systems theory?

I am exploring Theory of Mind from a non-reductionist perspective and am particularly interested in approaches grounded in systems theory. Most TOM literature focuses on cognitive neuroscience or psychology, but I want to understand mind as an emergent, interconnected process. Are there any well-regarded books that integrate systems thinking with cognition and social understanding?

A highly valuable starting point is The Systems View of Life by Fritjof Capra and Pier Luigi Luisi. Although it does not focus exclusively on Theory of Mind, it offers a powerful systems-based framework for understanding cognition, social interaction, and emergence. From an expert perspective, this work helps situate mind within networks of biological, social, and environmental processes. For more direct TOM engagement, I also recommend exploring research on extended mind and enactive cognition, which naturally align with systems theory.
