Health sciences education draws from medicine, pedagogy, and policy. Its interdisciplinary nature makes classification difficult.I am trying to understand how academia formally situates this field.

From my experience working with health education programs, Health Sciences Higher Education is best understood as an applied interdisciplinary field rather than a standalone discipline. I have seen it draw heavily from education theory, clinical sciences, and health policy. I would recommend positioning it as a bridge field, where pedagogical research meets professional practice. Its academic legitimacy comes from solving real educational problems rather than fitting neatly into a single discipline.
