What kinds of public policies can effectively accelerate price reductions for eco-friendly products and materials?
Eco-products are often criticized for being too expensive for widespread adoption.I am interested in understanding which policy tools actually help bring prices down. This is important for designing interventions that move beyond niche markets.

From my experience analyzing green markets, price reductions usually come from scale, learning, and competition rather than moral appeals. I have seen policies work best when they combine early-stage subsidies, public procurement, and clear long-term standards. I would recommend policies that reduce risk for producers, such as guaranteed demand or transitional support, while gradually tightening regulations. This approach allows costs to fall through experience and innovation without locking consumers into permanently higher prices.
