 Fabrication tolerances become extreme at mmWave (e.g., sub-0.1 mm features). Ohmic losses in metallic metasurfaces degrade efficiency. Narrow bandwidth of resonant unit cells conflicts with 5G's wide channels. Integration complexity with RF front-end and thermal management in compact modules.
