Syllabus for PhD entrance
Right now, I am doing my masters, and after that, I wish to get into a PhD program, and I have heard from my friends and many seniors also that there is an entrance test for its admission. I want to know the syllabus for that.

Physics:
Newtonian Mechanics and Rigid body dynamics; Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Approach; Electromagnetic Field and Dynamics of Charged particles, Propagation of Electromagnetic waves and Gauge transformation; Basics in Quantum Mechanics- Wave-Particle duality, Schrodinger Equation, Eigen value problems, motion in a central potential- orbital angular momentum , angular momentum algebra, spin etc.; Perturbation theory and Variational Principle; Classical and Quantum statistics; Phase transition; Laser and Coherence; Nuclear models and Radioactivity .
Electronics & Communication:

Frist paper will be objective type and will be of 50 Marks. This paper will consist of 50 objective type questions of 1 mark each related to the basics of the prescribed syllabus for Ph.D. Entrance Test (Management). Time allotted for this paper will be 1 hour.
Second paper will be subjective Paper and will be of 100 Marks
This paper will consist of 12 subjective questions. The candidates will be required to attempt any 8 questions. Each question shall carry equal marks. Time allotted for the second paper will be 2 hours.
