Sampling technique chooses a subgroup from a population in order to participate in the study. A sample survey is conducted to estimate the value of an attribute of a population.
Population parameter is the true value of the population attribute.
Sample technique is an estimate that is based on sample data of a population.
Sampling technique consists of 2 procedures in research. i.e. probability and non probability sampling.

Hey Dev. In probability sampling every single unit in the population will have a chance of being selected in the sample. Four types of sampling procedures associated with this type. They are simple random, stratified, systematic sampling, and cluster. Non probability sampling is used where the population is not well defined. This type includes convenience, purposive, and quota sampling procedures. The common reason for using non probability sampling procedure is, it is less expensive and can often be implemented quickly.

Parul and nidhi have mentioned the types of probability and nonprobability sampling. To know more about it, check http://www.kenpro.org/sampling-procedures/. Some of the benefits of using the sampling technique are:
Low cost
Less sampling time
The high scope of sampling
High data accuracy
Can be used with limited resources
Has better rapport
