How do you keep staff sane in a chaotic government hospital?

Government hospitals are underfunded, overcrowded, and exhausting. Is it even possible to create a genuinely healthy work environment in that chaos?

It's hard, but not impossible. It requires intentional design: supportive leadership that shields staff from unnecessary stress, manageable workloads (through smart scheduling and task-shifting), open communication channels, and visible recognition for effort. Also critical: adequate safety protocols, functioning equipment, and opportunities for professional growth. Burnout isn't inevitable it's a signal of system failure. A healthy environment won't fix underfunding, but it can prevent the staff who stay from breaking.
