Common FDM materials include PLA (high strength, low impact resistance), ABS (good strength and toughness), and PETG (good impact strength with flexibility). TPU offers low strength but very high energy absorption, while nylon (PA) provides a strong balance of strength and toughness. Carbon fiber–filled filaments increase stiffness but tend to be more brittle.
