ANCOVA test is an extension of ANOVA test. This test is used to control for covariates that aren’t the focus of your study; mostly continuous or variables on a particular scale. It is also used to study combinations of categorical and continuous/variables on a scale as predictors.

The steps involved in ANCOVA test are:
Running a regression between the dependent and independent variables.
Figure out the residual values from the outcomes.
Run ANOVA on the residuals.

Assumptions of ANCOVA test is based on that of ANOVA.
1.Independent variables must be categorical variables.
2.The covariate and the dependent variable must be continuous variables.
3.Observations should be independent.
