A journal asked me to suggest potential reviewers. Is it a good idea to suggest people I know will be favorable, or should I aim for absolute neutrality?
The submission system asks for 3-4 suggested reviewers. Part of me wants to suggest scholars I know are sympathetic to my methodological approach to ensure a fair hearing. Another part worries this is unethical manipulation. What's the appropriate way to handle this request?
