BIM process enables the creation of virtual 3D models that could be explored and manipulated, thereby making it easier to understand the relation between spaces, and systems. A database creates a 3D image and generates building plans. The BIM process can build, view and inspect a structure in 3D.

Nidhi, BIM works through the creating database that is IFC compatible. IFC is a non-proprietary system of referencing a building. Since this system is neutral and not controlled, latitude and flexibility enable a platform that is based on IFC to be consistent. IFC also maintains the similarity between building models and software programs.
