What is the philosophical and practical role of destiny in shaping human life?
I want to understand how philosophy explains destiny and how belief in destiny practically influences human behavior and decision-making.

From a philosophical standpoint, destiny is not a settled fact but a lens through which people interpret their lives. Traditions like fatalism and certain theological views see destiny as fixed, offering comfort and meaning during uncertainty. In contrast, existentialist thinkers argue that humans are fundamentally free and responsible for shaping their own lives. In practice, I’ve observed that belief in destiny can either foster resilience—helping people accept hardship—or lead to passivity if taken too rigidly. A balanced view recognizes causal influences on life while still affirming human choice, effort, and moral responsibility.
