From my experience presenting at conferences, the most effective talks prioritize clarity over completeness. I have seen strong presenters focus on one core argument rather than compressing an entire paper into slides. I would recommend designing your presentation for listening, not reading, and keeping timing strict. Conferences reward ideas that are communicated clearly and confidently, even when the research is still in progress.
