Quantum computing is not at a dead end, although the challenges are substantial. While skeptics correctly point out issues such as qubit fragility, scaling difficulties, and error correction, quantum computing is grounded in well-established quantum mechanics rather than speculative theory. Ongoing progress in qubit coherence, error mitigation techniques, and the identification of practical NISQ-era applications indicates steady advancement. The field faces long-term hurdles, but it is far from being fundamentally unviable.
