The Compromise of Caspe (1412) was a huge political event. Did it leave any mark on Spanish literature, or was it just a footnote for historians?

It definitely left a mark, largely as a legitimizing narrative. You’ll find it in contemporary chronicles, like the Crónica de Juan II, which framed it as a wise, lawful solution that saved the kingdom from chaos. Later, it became material for historical dramas, often portrayed as a moment of prudent, collective decision-making that cemented the rule of the Trastámara dynasty. So in literature, it's remembered not as a messy political fight, but as the birth of a stabilizing myth.
