Measuring the Unmeasurable: Does a Lit Crit Course Boost Creativity?
I teach literary criticism and want to prove that my course does more than teach analysis—it actually boosts student creativity. How can I measure something as subjective as creative growth?

You need a multi-pronged approach to capture different facets of creativity. Use a pre/post design with: 1) Quantitative measures like the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking. 2) Qualitative portfolio assessment: have students submit early and final essays/creative projects, and look for growth in originality, complexity, and intellectual risk-taking. 3) Student self-reports on their creative confidence. By triangulating data from tests, actual work, and student perception, you build a robust, convincing case for the course's impact.
