How do different educational philosophies and approaches shape curriculum development in schools?
Schools often adopt curricula without explicitly acknowledging their philosophical roots. I’m interested in how approaches like constructivism, progressivism, or essentialism influence design choices. This question helps clarify why curricula differ across systems.

From my experience, educational philosophies quietly determine what schools value most. I have seen constructivist approaches emphasize inquiry and flexibility, while essentialist models prioritize content mastery and sequencing. I would recommend that curriculum developers make these philosophical assumptions explicit. When schools understand their philosophical stance, curriculum decisions become more coherent, aligned, and defensible rather than fragmented or trend-driven.
