Does anyone know of scientific articles or research reports on teachers’ involvement in curriculum development?

I am investigating how teachers contribute to curriculum formulation, adaptation, and enactment. The focus is on empirical studies that document the processes, opportunities, and challenges teachers face. This question seeks references that can inform both policy and practice.

From my experience reviewing curriculum research, I would start with work by Elliot W. Eisner and William Pinar, who frame teachers as active curriculum agents rather than passive implementers. Empirical studies in journals like Curriculum Inquiry, Teaching and Teacher Education, and Journal of Curriculum Studies document how teachers interpret, adapt, and sometimes resist official curricula. Research on teacher?led curriculum committees and collaborative curriculum design in contexts such as Finland and Canada is particularly insightful. These studies show that meaningful teacher involvement enhances relevance and responsiveness but requires supportive policy and leadership
