Dividing chapters within a dissertation, is it important?

I made my whole thesis and gave it to one of my friends to review it, unfortunately, he told me to divide the chapters for the better understanding of the reader. Now, if I do so, I need to work on it again. I have no problem doing so but I will do so only if it’s useful.
So, help me in clearing my thoughts and suggest me I should do it or not?

It’s crucial to divide chapters within the dissertation as it helps in a better understanding and reduce the burden of doing everything all together.

Each chapter in your dissertation represents something unique. I know it’s difficult to divide your, but it is the only way your thesis will get the impact it deserves.
