A Need is a condition required for an organism's survival, well-being, or to achieve a specific goal (e.g., water, social connection). A Necessity is a broader logical or metaphysical concept: a proposition that must be true, or a condition that is absolutely required in all possible circumstances. Needs are contextual and biological/psychological; necessities are often absolute and formal (e.g., logical necessity).
