Brief details about spearman rank correlation coefficient testaAm supposed to use spearman rank correlation coefficient test to determine if the rank correlation is non-zero or not. But I do not know much details about this test. Please provide me some brief details about the same. And how do I calculate the coefficient.

This procedure analyzes the power and significance level of Spearman’s Rank Correlation significance test using Monte Carlo simulation. Spearman’s rho, ρs, describes the strength of the monotonic relationship between two variables and the result obtained usually lies between 1 and -1.

The methodology followed to calculate the coefficient includes 1.Generating a table from the data set. 2.Ranking the two data sets. The smallest value in the column will get the lowest ranking. 3.Tied score gives the mean rank. 4.Find the difference in the ranks. 5.Squaring the differences, removing negative values and then summing them.

Morgan, while performing this test, you need to two variables that are either ordinal, interval or ratio. (However, the Spearman correlation can be used if the assumptions of the Pearson correlation are violated). Spearman’s correlation determines if the strength of the monotonic relationship between the two variables and not the strength of the linear relationship between your two variables.

If you are not aware of the spearman rank correlation coefficient test, then do not try to conduct the test and ruin your study. Consider taking help from some professionals statisticians. I took help from http://geoffandfrancis.co.uk/ even you can take their help. They are trustworthy and are reliable.
