Are there historical or archaeological sources on Sruchk Castle?
I'm compiling a bibliography for a comparative study on mountain strongholds and have hit a wall with Sruchk Castle. I need to identify primary sources like medieval chronicles or endowment deeds (waqfiyas), and secondary sources like journal articles or excavation reports if they exist. Any guidance on where to look would be immensely helpful.

I've guided many students through similar source hunts for obscure sites. First, I would recommend bypassing standard academic databases and diving into the bibliographies of related regional studies, like those on the Bahdinan or Soran principalities. Check the footnotes meticulously. Second, contact the Iraqi Antiquities and Heritage authorities in Erbil; they sometimes have internal site registers. I have seen that German and Polish archaeological missions in Kurdistan have produced overviews that might list Sruchk in an appendix, which is often where these lesser-known sites are hiding.
